Tideborn Command
★★★★☆ 4.2
Tideborn Command puts you in charge of a small island settlement that grows into a naval power. You gather resources, build docks, and send out ships to explore and defend. It's real-time, but generous enough with its pacing that you never feel punished for putting the phone down.
The clever part is the map layout. Reading the currents and choosing where to expand becomes a genuine puzzle, and the AI opponents push back in ways that kept us adjusting our plans. Pinch-to-zoom and drag controls work well even on a small screen.
It gets busy in the late game, and some menus could be tidier, but the core loop of expand-defend-expand kept pulling us back for one more session.
What we liked
- Smart map and current mechanics
- Forgiving real-time pacing
- Solid AI opponents
